2. Is Easea the brand of your MIM product?

Yes, Easea is created by our company to increase the brand awareness and visibility in the international market. All our exporting to the overseas market will be via Easea MIM Limited.

3. How do I know my part is suitable for MIM?

Typically, if the part is very small, from 0.1g to 50g in weight. Very complex, with more than 25 measurable dimensions. And large annual quantity, more than 10,000 pieces per year. It will be a good candidate for MIM. These are sound guidelines, yet not the absolute criteria. We ever produced the part with only 1,000 pieces yearly quantity, simply because they are too costly to produce by traditional methods.

4. I have a small part 10 grams and plan to produce by precision casting. Can I try it with MIM?

Technically it should be no problem to produce it by MIM. However MIM use super fine metal powders as raw material. It’s raw material price is much higher than metal bars for casting. Usually we have to check the drawings and tolerances. If the part is complex with tight tolerances, casting part has to be followed by secondary machining. This will create higher cost in the end. In this case MIM can produce the part without expensive secondary machining and give a cheaper price. We have to check this case by case. The best way is to contact us with your project. We will make an evaluation and provide quotation for your comparison.

5. Are the materials in your web material list all you can work with?

The material list only gives some typical MIM materials. The most often used materials in global MIM market are Ferrous low alloy steel, stainless steel. Our engineers will help you to define the most suitable material for your project.

6. Did your website list all the products you produced?

No. The web page shows only a few typical MIM products. We have several hundreds more MIM parts not showing on the page. Some are required by customer not to be presented publicly. MIM is a kind of metal processing service we provide. The product is tailored according to customer’s drawings. This is different from the standard part which you just pick up from the catalogue.

7. Do you provide samples before we discuss a new project?

We can provide samples for new customers to check the quality or even test the mechanical properties. However as we mentioned before the samples are only references. Your own samples can only be achieved when the mold and pilot production is done.

8. What is the lead-time for MIM in your company?

Mold manufacturing plus samples making lead-time is usually 5 weeks.

9. Do I need to pay for the mold and the later on mold maintenance cost during production?

Customer need to pay for the mold only once. The later on mold maintenance cost or maybe even making a new mold if the part volume is very large and mold totally worn out, will be on Easea.

10. Can MIM parts be heat treated or plated?

Yes. Actually almost all the conventional metal processing methods can be applied on MIM part, like heat treatment, sub zero cooling, plating, polishing, machining, etc. Easea can provide all these post processes to customer as a one stop solution.
